SUMMER SCHOOL 2007
The overall arrangement of the ICED conferences rests with the Design Society (DS), an international, non-governmental, non-profit organisation whose members share a common interest in design. The overall aim of the society is to seek a greater understanding of design and promote its application for human good.
The Design Society is an international organization of design professionals and academics with headquarters currently at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.

Conferences
The ICED conference series was initiated by WDK (Workshop Design-Konstruktion) in 1981. From the very beginning, the idea
and the aim of ICED has been to offer a platform for the discussion of new trends, developments and research findings in the areas of new product development, design support techniques, design processes, design science and design education.
All conferences have focused on the process of planning, developing and designing technical systems and products.
ICED covers all aspects and disciplines of engineering design.
Over the years ICED conferences have become the forum for establishing, maintaining and improving contacts and cooperation between researchers and engineers all over the world.
